The Church at Deerfield Beach Missions

Here at The Church at Deerfield Beach we believe that the chief purpose of our existence is to glorify God. Our aim is to do this in all that we do (1 Corinthians 10:31).

One of the last things Jesus said to His followers is found in Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

This is the basis for all that we do here at The Church, and our Mission is to MAKE DISCIPLES of Jesus Christ according to the command of our Lord. Missions for us is an overflow of living a cross-centered, passionate, and loving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jesus said in John 13:35, "By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." Our intentionality in loving one another plays a foundational and vital part in living out our everyday mission of pointing people to [have a relationship with] God through the Gospel of Christ.

After Jesus rose from the dead He appeared to His disciples and said to them "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8).

We believe that God is already at work in the hearts of people in the world around us and we are called to be His witnesses wherever He has placed us. So we have a vision to make His name known here first in our city of Deerfield Beach, our "Jerusalem," then to our "Judea," or the county we are placed in, and onto the areas around us like our own "Samaria," and ultimately "to the ends of the earth" like the unreached people groups in nations with very little access to the life changing power of the Gospel. We do this by having regular outreaches in our community and city we call "Mission Deerfield". We also plan local Mission Trips as the Lord leads us.

But God is less concerned about our destination or place that we minister than He is about our availability to serve Him wherever we are. He wants our whole life to be on mission as we join Him in His work "to seek and to save the Lost" (Luke 19:10).
