OUR GOD

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe.

God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections, God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God revels Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. (SBC-BF&M)

OUR CHURCH

We are more than an address, more than a facility, we are are the Body of Christ. We are a men and women with a call to be more for our God.

The Southern Baptist Convention, whom we are affiliated with, defines the local church as a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the two ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. Each congregation operates under the Lordship of Christ through democratic processes. In such a congregation each member is responsible and accountable to Christ as Lord.

Here at The Church at Deerfield Beach we believe, as the New Testament teaches, that the church is not a building but instead it is the Body of Christ which includes the redeemed of all ages, believers from every tribe, tongue, people and nation.

OUR FACILITY

Construction on our current home was started back in the early 1930s and has been added to through the years.

The orginal sanctuary at this location was converted into a home, The Barnabas House, for international missionaries that are state side on furlough. The current sanctuary has been in use since the early 1960s with many renovations over the years. The Christian Life Center was later added during the 1980s and '90s.

At our core we follow the pattern of His church when it was first founded "They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2:42). Studying of the Bible, fellowship with one another and with our God, communion, and prayer, the model of the church.

OUR CALL

For many Christians, as we mature in the faith, we ask the question, "What is my calling?" After all, we have heard other Christians talk about their calling.

When we ask this we are usually asking, "What should I be doing as a Christian?" We are most likely thinking of our career or life choices when we ask this. This becomes a point of stress for some as they frantically search for their calling or purpose as a child of God. When we look at and start to understand the Word of God, The Bible, we find that our purpose is to glorify and praise God through Jesus Christ our Lord. The most important thing we can do to glorify Him is to be in service to Him by furthering His Kingdom.
